Daniela Boassa, Ph.D.

Dr. Daniela Boassa is Director of Core Efforts in Probe Development and Refinement.  She is responsible for supervising several staff and students involved in molecular biology activities such as designing new constructs and implementing new vectors and expression systems. She is the first line of contact for our tetracysteine, TimeStamp, or miniSOG constructs, working closely with our collaborative and service partners in incorporating genetic probes and fluorescent proteins into their proteins of interest, trouble shooting labeling and detection of these proteins and correlates this work with Mr. Deerinck for photoconversion experiments.

In addition to these NCMIR responsibilities, Dr. Boassa’s current research focus is on protein turnover and aberrant protein processing in neuro degenerative disease.
